about

The position data of a single, optically-trapped Brownian microsphere was sonified using Pure Data. Each radial displacement of the sphere mapped to an audible pitch. The centermost subregion of the mapping region corresponded to C4. The mapped note increased along the C chromatic scale as the particle moved out radially. The centermost subregion area was enlarged to pi microns. The other subregion areas each equaled pi/8 microns.
